Paul McCartney is best know as one of the founding members of The Beatles, originally called the Quarrymen before changing their name to the Silver Beatles and eventually The Beatles.
Paul McCartney met up with John Lennon and the duo went on to collaborate and write almost all of The Beatles' hit songs including songs like "All My Lovin'", "Penny Lane", and "The Long and Winding Road". The Beatles achieved worldwide superstardom and also helped legitimize Rock music as an art form
